Twitter Reaches its 20 Billionth Tweet from Twitter Junkie, ‘GGGGGGo_Lets_Go’

Whether you think Twitter is a great place to share your opinions or just a place for people to air some mindless babble about their lives, there is no doubt that since the launch of the micro blogging site in 2006, it has grown tremendously in popularity.

To show just how much the site has grown in popularity, it was announced over the weekend that Twitter had reached an all time high as the the 20th billionth tweet was sent via Twitter.

The 20th billionth tweet was made on Saturday by a graphic designers in Tokyo called GGGGGGo_Lets_Go. So how did the graphic designer react? After being told he had sent the 20 billionth tweet he wrote…

“It looks like I posted the 20 billionth tweet. I’m getting replies from people all over the world. It’s scary. What are the chances? Maybe I’m going to die. Is it more amazing than winning the lottery? I thought it was a joke”

So as GGGGGGo_Lets_Go celebrates a bit of celebrity Twitter stardom, I wonder how long it will take for Twitter to reach another 20 billionth milestone?  Get Tweeting guys!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
