Samsung Tocco Pink: Guys, grab your wallets and treat your girl!

The Samsung F480 Tocco Pink shows off a sleek, glossy finished body with a girly pink hue. Alternative colours include Gold, Silver and Brown, not forgetting the original black Tocco. Slender and lightweight in a credit card-like design, the Tocco is slim enough to slip neatly into your pocket or purse.

A large 2.8" screen (res. 240 x 320) with 256k bright colours makes the Tocco a pleasure to use. A responsive full touch screen ensures easy navigation, quite literally at your fingertips, with haptic technology for tactile feedback. The Tocco uses Touchwiz User Interface allowing personalisation of the home screen. This UI allows you to move clocks and other such widgets around the screen by drag-and-drop.

Like many of its rivals, the Tocco has a 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom to allow happy snappers like me to take lots of great quality photos and videos. The front facing camera allows you to enjoy video calls and the autofocus and flash ensures for professional looking photos. Features include image stabilisation, Power LED and Quick View. Extra tools allow you to edit and enhance your photos and the Tocco's mobile blogging allows you to upload your photos to your personal blog.

I love taking pictures of friends and family, so the Tocco's face detection and Smile Shot mode is right up my street. Face detection automatically adjusts settings to ensure great quality portraits while Smile Shot makes it worldwide debut on a mobile phone. This feature can automatically identify when the subject is smiling and will automatically take the picture. Better get smiling!

Allegedly the picture quality is not as clear on the video function as on the still camera function. Features allow you to edit your videos and add an audio soundtrack, creating your own mini movie that you can upload directly YouTube.

The Tocco is 3G enabled and internet should be a doddle via HSDPA at 7.2Mbps and a dedicated Google application. Get ready for quick and easy file downloads, video streaming and video calls.

The Tocco has a built in FM radio with RDS and a MP3/WMA player (well, let's face it; a mobile wouldn't be complete without one these days!).

Remember Sony Ericsson's TrackID? (My fiancé loves this feature!) Well the Tocco introduces a feature called Shazam that similar to TrackID, can identify a song that you're listening to and from apparently it seems to work pretty well.

The internal memory of 228Mb lets you store lots of music, videos and photos. And if that's not enough, the Tocco has the capacity for a microSD memory card of up to 8GB for you to boost the memory.

Share files with your friends quickly and easily via Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, or upload files to your PC in a flash thanks to the USB 2.0.

Reviews report that the Tocco has a bad habit of dropping calls - never good. But I've known many other temperamental handsets to do this. Some users have also complained of poor sound / voice quality during phone calls.

The Tocco seems like a pretty cool phone and in a variety of colours, there's one for everybody.
