  • I’m buying the new iPhone as soon as it’s available in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. I always put my phones in a case that doubles as my wallet. So no big deal. I’m going to buy the phone outright with no contract also. :)

  • I am worried about the antenna problem yes, but I am strongly considering buying it anyway.

  • Hi Grunty, I am thinking along the same lines as you. Do you know if we will be able to purchase the iPhone 4 outright on its release day?

  • Hi Shani,

I cannot see why you would not be able to on release day. If Rogers wont sell it then I know Apple will on release day. Plus there is this story…

    Pretty much confirms it.

Buying the phone outright I think makes more sense since your not tied to a $70 monthly fee for 3 years. Thats insane. So the phone would cost $2500.xx before you owned it. LOL! No thanks. This way I spend oh I dont know $650 and I own the phone and i can go pay as you go for everything from Data to Phone service to MMS and so on. I can put a plan together of what I want and when I want it. Im in control.

    Grunty

  • I would not be concerned about the antennae issue. Seriously, I always put my phone in a case that also doubles as a wallet. The thing with modern phones and gadgets Apple sells is that they are always prone to scratches and smudges on the gloss they layer on. I hate that. So i cover them up with antiglare screens and ussually in a case to avoid scratches. Plus if you keep the phone looking mint in a case you can resell it whenever you want to buy a new phone. It will look like new.

  • CANT WAIT FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • unlocked or not? “If your iPhone 4 is unlocked via jailbreaking, every time Apple releases a new iOS update you’re stuck in limbo. You can’t update via iTunes or you’ll lose your unlock.”But jailbreaking iphone 4 is legal in USA. Maybe, iphone 4 should provide something richer for developers to create for, like ifunia, who declared they are dedicated in creating affordable and easy multimedia software to simplify your Mac life, but not kill them with “iTunes”. Then I’ll purchase an unlocked with no hesitation.

  • Dude. Apple sells them unlocked officially. Unlocked meaning that you are not tied via a contract to Rogers or ATT or Bell.

You are making my brain hurt. Just stop.
