Hong Kong Company Wicked Lasers have created what they call ‘the most dangerous laser ever created’. And they’re probably right. The Spyder III Pro Arctic boasts a blue ray that is 1000 times stronger the sunlight on skin. Now I burn with just five minute of sun exposure on a standard English summer day. So this could very easily burn through flesh, and will definitely blind if pointed in someones eyes. It isn’t a laser pointer – it’s a disabling weapon in the wrong hands.
It has a beam which can be seen by aircraft pilots 45 miles away, and was made by adapting blue lasers from home cinema projectors. Scary thought. And it costs just $200 (£135) to purchase, with no apparent restrictions except asking buyers to agree to a Class IV Laser Hazard acknowledgement form. VERY scary thought…
