Amazon have launched their Kindle for Android app on the Android Market. Ebook fans have been waiting a while for the app to hit Android-powered devices especially as the iPhone version has been out for sometime now.
The Android version is similar to the iPhone version, allowing users to sync their library across devices, purchase content from Amazon via an optimised mobile browser version of the Amazon Kindle store, which lets you choose from 620,000 books. However, you will need to ensure that before you install Kindle for Android, your Android device is running on Android 1.6.
Although the app is a welcome addition, it does have a few missing features which include full text search and in-app purchasing.

The app doesn’t work. It gets to the main screen, asks you to go online to buy books and as soon as you get there it closes the browser again. Happens every time, the webpage stays open for only a few seconds and then close sitself before you can even search for anything. Waste of time.
