Microsoft Let’s Slip Windows Phone Release Date

Microsoft executives have let it slip that the new Windows Phone will be out in October, after it was casually announced at the Cannes Lions advertising conference.

The conference was showing off the advertising capabilities of the upcoming smartphone platform. And Microsoft VP for Marketing Mich Mathews introduced someone on stage and said “I’m gonna ask rock star Kostas… to come on. And Kostas has brought with him Windows Phone 7, which we launch this October.”

The last we heard of a release date was last week and was pencilled in for “holiday 2010,” so this would narrow that release date by quite a bit.

Are you looking forward to the new Windows Mobile 7? Let us know below……

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
