HP TouchSmart 600: World’s First Multi-Touch Tablet PC Launched

HP have launched the world’s first next generation multi-touch consumer tablet PC called the HP TouchSmart 600.

The HP TouchSmart 600 offers a sleek and slimline design as well as a whole host of features under its bonnet which allow customers the flexibility to adapt how they access, navigate and interact with their wide plethora of content. Some interesting features include:

  • A light touch of a finger to the screen can be used to scroll through web pages, view and edit photos and select favourite tunes and movies quickly and easily
  • Specific gestures developed by HP initiate responses such as zoom in or out, rotate, scroll or move an object with a pinch, twist, flick and drag of the fingertips on the multi-touch display
  • The digital pen interacts with the slate screen as a pencil would on paper. Pick up the pen to take handwritten notes, draw a doodle, annotate documents and decorate photos and emails

The HP TouchSmart 600 has been designed by HP’s award winning design team, who have been developing touch expertise over four generations, so I am pretty sure we won’t be disappointed with the the world’s first multi-touch consumer tablet PC from HP.

The HP TouchSmart 600 is available directly from the HP site and prices start at £1000.

  • I have an iMac, which I love a great deal – using several virtualized operating virtualization via virtualbox, and I have played with the touchsmart Best Buy.

I could say good things about them both, but the major point of differentiation is of course the touch screen, and any OS specific apps you may use. The mac is stylish, of course, but also comes with the apple price premium, The HP would be at home in a kiosk or on your kitchen counter. It is also an excellent combination of functionality and style. In fact, the biggest drawback might be getting others to keep their hands off it.

If you’re stuck between these two, no matter which one you pick you’ll be buying a good machine.

What do you think hp touchsmart 600 or imac?

    Waiting for your response!!!

    Regards
    Steffy

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
