iPhone 4 Prices Revealed by Apple but No Pre-Order Details for UK Mobile Carriers

The iPhone 4 went on sale yesterday at approximately 9am. Although, no official sales results have been released on how many handsets were pre-ordered yesterday in the UK we can certainly imagine that it was quite a fair few.

I have just checked the UK Apple website and there is still stock left for the iPhone 4. Currently, Apple is selling the iPhone 4 for £499 for the 16GB and £599 for the 32GB, SIM free, so this means that you aren't tied into any contract and you can choose any network to use your iPhone on.

In the US, AT&T were out of stock a few hours after pre-orders for the iPhone 4 went up yesterday, however it’s a different story for mobile networks in the UK. Although, tariff prices for O2 are currently showing on their website, there has been no news from them or the other network carriers on when the iPhone 4 will be available to pre-order from their networks.

It would appear that the reason why the UK network providers haven’t been told about the pre-order details is because Apple haven’t released official details. However we have a sneaky suspicion that Apple are cashing in on the iPhone 4 frenzy to boost its handset sales before it hits the contract market.

Whatever the reason may be, we will definitely keep you updated on news as and when it comes through…

  • I can’t believe the phones are available to pre-order yet no price plans have been launched yet! It seems ridiculous.

  • No price plans because of next weeks budget ?????

  • Price is….. bloody expensive for a poor man like me!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
