Natal Re-named Kinect at Microsoft E3 Preview: Expected Launch in November

Microsoft have been showing off their new movement add-on at a pre E3 press conference. Previously know as Natal, it has since been named Kinect and is expected to be released in November.

The event which was put together by Cirque du Soleil, showed performers playing a range of different games including Joyride and the previously seen River Rush. It would seem that River Rush is one element of a bigger title called Kinect Adventures according to USA Today.

Other titles on show included a short video of a new Star Wars game, which appeared to show a game where you get to take on hordes of droids with a virtual lightsaber.

Microsoft are quite clearly looking to attract the casual market with announcements that they have signed deals with Disney and MTV for Dance Central. Other titles include Kinect Sports and Kinetimals, which are sure be top family titles when the new system is launched.

According to Microsoft we can expect to see Kinect “coming to living rooms around the world this holiday”. Expect more news later when Microsoft hold its proper conference later today.

So are you excited by Kinect? And what price would you pay for this new piece of kit ? Have your say  below….

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
