Valve’s latest hardware survey has shown that the game deprived Mac is out-gunning its Windows counterpart when it comes to running the new Steam gaming platform.
Over half of all Mac’s carry more on board RAM, usually 4GB where as the majority of Windows PC usually have 2GB or 3GB because of its 32-bit OS.
Mac’s also fair much better when it comes down to the number of processors – with 90% of all Mac’s generally running dual-cores and 17% of Windows users still only using single core machines.
Of course where it really counts for gaming is the Graphic Processing Unit, which Windows users having a choice of six capable performers that can more than manage anything thrown at them – on the other hand 32.5% of Macs surveyed had bottom-end graphics card.
So Apple can certainly handle the new gaming platform and in time they will probably out smart Windows on all fronts if they are not careful.
