Pentax E60 Camera: capture a bargain

In the lead up to the festive season, there have been a number of stories in the press on retailers’ profits going down, meaning we just aren’t buying as much as usual. Well I’m on a mission now to find some great gadget gifts that won’t cost the earth, and to start with, I couldn’t go past the Pentax E60 Camera which will retail around the very affordable £70 mark.

With such a low price tag, you would think the photo quality would leave a bit to be desired, but with 10.1 megapixels this camera is starting to look like the best buy ever. Not only do you get excellent picture quality with this camera, your £70 also buys you a wide-angle lens with 3x zoom, which is very respectable within this price range.

The E60 comes with a large range of auto modes, including Face Recognition, which can detect up to ten faces in a frame and adjust focus and exposure accordingly; perfect for taking pictures at all of your upcoming Christmas parties.

This camera also features High Sensitivity Digital Shake Reduction that will automatically boost the ISO to provide faster shutter speeds and to compensate for camera shake, so no matter how excited you are, your pictures will be crystal clear.

The last auto mode worth mentioning is the Green Mode which highly simplifies the already not too complicated process of taking a photo, and makes the E60 the perfect choice for first-time digital camera users.

Available in October, this is a quality camera with price in focus.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
