iPhone 4 Specs Confirmed: The Processor, Multi-tasking and Gaming

So we’ve talked design, screen display and camera. Next up is some of the things which are important and worth a mention too…

The iPhone 4 runs with the same A4 processor as the iPad and claims that there will be a 40% improvement in the battery life due to efficiency of the A4 processor. To give you some facts it is expected to have 7h 3G talk, 6h 3G browsing, 10h Wi-Fi, 10h video, 300h standby, which certainly an improvement.

Multitasking seems to work like a dream with the improvement in the processor. Steve Jobs demoed how you can make a phone call, check your emails, browse the internet and run third party apps without slowing the battery or draining the battery unnecessarily.  We’ll have to test this ourselves though to believe it.

Another thing is the Netflix app. Now if you have an iPad then you will know what we are talking about. Netflix iPhone app, will let you stream movies from a Netflix account to Apple's smartphone the same way it already streams to computers, television sets, iPads and supported smartphones, without losing your place if you switch screens. This time, you'll be able to watch over the iPhone's wireless 3G connection in addition to Wi-Fi, and movies have the potential to look particularly good on the new 4G iPhone's higher-resolution display. However, a word of caution as this could take a big bite out of people month 3G data allowance especially if you are on a capped data plan.

The iPhone 4 accelerometer set up is also worthy a mention especially for all your gaming fanatics. The 3-axis gyroscope is perfect for gaming and could be even as good to take on some of the popular gaming consoles on the market.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
