We’ve already discussed the design and screen display of the iPhone 4. Next up is the camera…
There has been always a small annoyance a about the iPhone 4 and that has been their fairly mediocre camera.
Well it would appear that just as we had predicted the new iPhone 4 will come touting a 5 megapixel. As well as this the new iPhone will come packed with a larger lens, LED flash and a backside illumination to improve low light performance.
iMovie was something that Steve Job went into great detail at the WWDC, so instead of going into too much depth about it, in a nutshell iMovie is a powerful mobile timeline based movie editor. Now, it not as advanced for the next Steven Spielberg movie, however you can certainly edit your home movie with it. The app will cost you $5 from the apps store.
Another interesting feature which has been under a lot of rumours at the moment is video chat. We didn’t get it on the 3GS, however Apple are launching it on the iPhone 4 and calling it FaceTime. Steve Jobs did a demo of the function and it appeared to worked very well.
It will support both front and near camera, portrait and landscape and works anywhere where there is a WiFi spot, which means no 3G video calling.
The front camera itself offers VGA, which is 640×480 and it seems fairly adequate for a camera for streaming videos.
