Previously we talked about the design of the iPhone 4. Next up is the iPhone 4’s screen display…
For all you resolution experts, when we talk "Retina" IPS LCD display sports 326 pixels per inch, and is 960×640 pixels I am pretty sure most of you will know what I’m talking about. For those of you that are resolution virgins out there, the 960×640 on the iPhone 4 in a nutshell means that it has a higher pixel count than any other phone out there. This means that the iPhone 4 screen is pretty sharp indeed.
Compare it to the old iPhone which is only 480 x 320, the iPhone 4’s 960×640 is basically twice the original resolution. What’s even great is that Apple have not alienated its older apps. Instead Apple have ensured that all the old apps will run on iPhone 4, which is good news for apps developers.
The screen is definitely a unique selling point as you can probably imagine how wonderful photos and videos will look, however we might have to take our word back about the developers job being easier as imagine the complications now as they have to keep three resolutions in mind if they want their apps to be available on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3G/3GS or the iPad?
