With news trickling through over the past few months regarding Microsoft’s Window Phone 7, it would appear that Windows are now certainly setting the expectations high for their proposed OS, especially as they have recently predicted that Windows Phone 7 will sell 30 million handsets by the end of 2011.
The Windows prediction has come from a culmination of factors, however more importantly it has been suggested by Windows that as we see a rise in the smartphone industry from 14% this year to 40% by next year, this will help to ignite the sales of Windows Phone 7.
However, Windows is up against some pretty stiff competition, especially with the likes of the iPhone 4G that is expected to be released next month and Google Android, which is seeing 100,000 devices a day being shipped out.
Who will come out worthy winner in the fight against the smartphone OS still remains to be seen so until then it is certainly going to be an interesting battleground for Apple, Android and Windows Phone 7 in the next coming years.
