..The answer to that question is that pricing will start from £429.

Just as I had published my article about the confirmed UK released date of the Apple iPad, it would appear that Apple have also confirmed how much the iPad is actually going to cost us lovely folk in the UK. Here is a run down of the iPad pricing below:

WiFi Only

  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi 16GB - £429 inc VAT
  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi 32GB - £499 inc VAT
  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi 64GB - £599 inc VAT

WiFi + 3G

  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi +3G 16GB - £529 inc VAT
  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi +3G 32GB - £599 inc VAT
  • Apple iPad Wi-Fi +3G 64GB - £699 inc VAT

Now pricing does seem a little steep compared to what we had originally predicted, so if you’re looking to get your hands on the Apple iPad, you might want to start saving those pennies now!

  • This is just another kick for the UK customer market. Before this product was speculated to be available to the European community, Apple was highlighting that the value of this product to be around $499, with the state of the Pound and against the dollar looks like we will end up with the rare side of the deal for inquiring in a piece of modern technology. If you look at value for money you can buy a semi decent laptop for under £400, which you can add various universal software at low cost, providing an ubiquitous opportunity against the iPad. Now I am all for Apple products having own the iMac iPhone and Apple tv, but surely this is a growing market which Apple would want to capture in order to attain an variable market.

I don’t acctually think so cuz it’s cheper than the Americans and the americans always have it cheaper!

  • Sorry Mark but you are wrong, you are forgetting VAT.
    at today’s rate $499 = £337.
    £337 + VAT = £396

So that’s only £33 more expensive than what the Americans pay.
If you take into account that it costs more for them to trade and sell in the UK plus the price of exporting all the way to UK, it seems about the same price.

If people don’t like the prices they have 2 options, get one from America and hope you don’t get stung for import duty (and hope it turns up working), or don’t buy one.
