iPhone 4.0 OS Update to Disable ‘Rate on Delete’ Prompt on Apple Apps

Whilst we like to hear about all the features which the iPhone 4.0 OS update could include, we should also not forget things which the iPhone 4.0 could be removing.

One of the features which is set on the cards for deletion is the rating prompt which users see when they delete an app from their Apple device.

Now although this was Apple’s attempt of getting feedback from users to be shown on the apps store, since the inception of this feature, developers have complained that the prompt only encourages negative feedback rather than positive.

They might be right especially as previous consumer behavioural studies have shown that people usually only leave feedback when they have something to complain about or it has resulted in a negative experience which isn’t particularly fair on developers.

What do you think of Apple disabling this prompt? Do you find this a useful exercise or something which is just an annoyance? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
