Lego MP3 Player makes music fun again

Do you remember when MP3 players were just blocky, incredibly uncool looking things? Back before iPods and Creatives and Zunes began to start a war over sleek but incredibly expensive app packed status symbols, all that used to matter was that you could hold a few albums on there.

I miss those days. I have a Zune, which I bought following advice from a very tech savvy friend. Turns out he was a twit because the Zune has a horrible interface and software, but hey – at least it looks good!

Well sod that, I want a Lego MP3 player. It might only hold 2GB of songs but it looks fun, and makes me smile. Plus it’s £35 and if I can dig out the old Lego blocks my Grandad had I can also build it into structures. Which is just cool. As mentioned in the Christmas gift guides they do a camera too. And a CD Player. Soon I could have the full scale Lego house I always dreamed of…

What zune version do you have that has such horrible interface/software but looks sleek? Because if I remember correctly, it was only gen 1 with the terrible interface, but it was also ugly. With Generation 2 and the Zune HD it’s the software/interface that is the strongest point.

  • @soccerfreak24 Mine is a Gen 1. I don’t think it’s particularly ugly, but the interface is really sluggish and not very well designed. I’ll have to see about upgrading to a Gen 2 / HD!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
