Even though the Apple iPad hasn't hit Blighty's high streets yet, a range of apps have been released and rated, including a handy entertainment application from Yahoo.
For the very reasonable price of free, Yahoo Entertainment offers a TV programme guide and 24/7 video feeds for news, leisure and business offerings from not just Yahoo, but a handful of other providers as well.
You can also access comics, book reviews, keep up to date on the latest fashion and even read up on "odd stories".
The app also takes advantage of the iPad's multi-touch capabilities, and recommends entertainment bits and bobs from across the web through real-time content from local providers.
Yahoo has made the most of geo location capabilities to make sure you get content relevant to you, and not to someone living in New York.
Initial user reviews look promising with the app scoring either four or five stars from over 200 people, although a few have complained of a propensity to crash.
“Devices like the iPad allow Yahoo to create new experiences and expand the art of what’s possible in the eyes of consumers," said Tapan Bhat, senior vice president of Yahoo’s integrated consumer experiences.
"Just like we did with Connected TV and mobile, we successfully re-imagined the consumer experiences for an entirely new platform,” he said.
“The combination of compelling and engaging content coupled with unique design and innovation, provides consumers with an unparalleled Web experience.”
