HTC HD2 Hacked to Include Windows Phone 7 Series Update

T-Mobile in the US began selling the HTC HD2 smartphone on Wednesday, with the first batch being sold by Friday.

Since the launch on Friday it would appear that the HTC HD2 handsets have almost been sold out in all T-Mobile stores across the country already.

Although, the HD2 seems like a very popular device, one of the disappointing features regarding the phone is the fact that it remains on the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform. It was expected that after the phone was released in the UK last November, that when the phone arrived in the US this month, it would include the Window’s Phone 7 Series update, however unfortunately this did not happen.

There is still no official news regarding an update,  however despite, not being able to acquire support for such an upgrade through the official channels, it would appear that a hacker has been able to unofficially but nonetheless successfully update Windows Phone 7 Series to the HD2.
