Last week we discussed the possible announcement of the HTC Supersonic, the first ever 4G handset from Sprint. Well, it is expected that Sprint will make this announcement tomorrow at the CTIA.
These Are The Droids posted a leaked screen from the Sprints Premier Customer Rewards program which stated an "exciting announcement about a ground breaking device" will be coming tomorrow.
The HTC Supersonic is expected to be an Android 2.1 based device and tout a large 4.3 inch display. However, more interestingly it is set to run on Sprint's 4G dual-mode WiMAX/EVDO connectivity options, so that users can seamlessly switch between Sprint's 3G network and the 4G airwaves, making it quite possibly the first ever Android phone to support 4G.
Does the rumoured HTC Supersonic with 4G connectivity, make you want to buy one when it is released or are you not fussed about its possible 4G capabilities? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…
Update: I think we might have got our dates a little mixed up. As the annoucement from These Are The Droids was posted yesterday, it would appear that the annoucement is set to come today so we’ll keep you updated. Sorry about that!
