Asus has extended its popular Eee PC family with the Eee PC 1001PX reaching European shores.
With a carbon fibre shell, the netbook can take a knock and still remain extremely attractive.
It looks very similar to the Asus Eee PC 1001P, but will come with either Windows XP or Windows 7 Starter.
The Windows XP version will feature a 160GB hard disk, and will come with a 3-cell battery providing 5 hours of use time.
The more upmarket Windows 7 Starter version will be able to hold 250GB, and can be powered up for up to 9 hours via a 6-cell battery.
As part of the Asus Eee PC range, the 1001PX isn't going to cost the earth. The Windows 7 version should retail for around £270 while the more budget version will set you back £220.
Both will come with 1GB of RAM, three USB ports, VGA and Ethernet ports, and will also boast a memory card reader.
The 10.1 inch displays will provide a screen res of 1024 x 600 pixels, and both Eee PC 1001PX machines will come with a built-in webcam.
Under the bonnet of the new netbooks will be a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor and Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics.
