Now we all know that the new iPhone 4G release date is rumoured for this summer, however it would appear that Sprint are taking advantage of the current iPhone's wireless networking weaknesses, by showcasing an advert on how you can create your very own "4G" iPhone which doesn't involve a single hardware update from Apple.
Called "Make Your iPhone 4G", the advert shows you exactly how you can turn your existing iPhone into an iPhone 4G. How? Well, you can either watch the video (shown at the bottom of this article) or follow these simple steps below:
1. You take your iPhone and turn on the WiFi radio.
2. You go to a Sprint store and pick up an Overdrive (a hotspot creater by Sierra Wireless that makes use of Sprint's WiMax network).
3. You load up the Overdrive
4. Connect to Sprint's WiMax network
5. Connect to your iPhone's Overdrive's WiFi network
….and hey presto you have a 4G iPhone.
Now obviously as Sprint is a US network operator this only applies to iPhone users in the US, but nonetheless, if you're a US users and looking to speed up your current iPhone, then why not use Sprint’s answer to creating your very own iPhone 4G before the rumoured release date.
