iPad discountedI think by now all of us will have the date April 3rd permanently engrained on our brains as the official US launch date of the Apple iPad. With pre-order sales sky rocketing at the moment, it would appear that consumers are going googoo eyed over the iPad.

If you're one of those people who would give their right arm to get one then your luck might be in if you're a teacher or work in an educational institution.

How? Well, it would appear that Apple is offering special school/education rates on their iPads.

These discounted iPad are available in packs of 10. Prices and configurations are shown below:

BF822LL/A: iPad Wi-Fi (16GB) $4,790
BF825LL/A: iPad Wi-Fi (16GB) with AppleCare Protection Plan for iPad – Auto Enroll $5,580
BF823LL/A: iPad Wi-Fi (32GB) $5,790
BF826LL/A: iPad Wi-Fi (32GB) with AppleCare Protection Plan for iPad – Auto Enroll $6,580
BF824LL/A: iPad Wi-Fi (64GB) $6,790
BF827LL/A: iPad Wi-Fi (64GB) with AppleCare Protection Plan for iPad – Auto Enroll $7,580

As the iPad is only available in the US at the moment, these rates only apply to educational institutions there, however us folk in the UK will have to wait a little longer to get our hands on one and see whether Apple will offer the same discounted rates to schools here in the UK.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
