Death of Google’s Search Engine in China?

It would appear that the ongoing saga between Google vs China is coming to an end.

News from Wall Street Journal revealed that Google is ready to close its Chinese Google Search website, after Google’s reluctance to censor their search results in China, which is against Chinese censorship laws.

It has also been reported that the death of Google in China is expected to take place in the next coming weeks.

With China being one of the world's most densely populated countries with a rapidly increasing internet market, it was always the view that maybe Google might succumb to the Chinese government demands, especially as it would have meant a loss in their revenue. However, it is clear that Google have felt it is has been their global/social responsibility to uphold the stance to say 'no' to censorship.

Good for you Google! What do you think of Google’s stance? Do you think they have done the right thing to pull out of China? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think…

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
