O2 has accidentally confirmed that the rumoured next iPhone will come with video calls and possibly a front facing camera to enable these video calls.
The slip of the tongue came a few days after O2 unveiled their new Simplicity SIM-only tariffs. Under the tariffs key features it showed how the next Apple iPhone could include some sort of video calling functionality as well as the fact that the cost would be the same price as UK voice calls.
Now although we could believe that this could be a mistake, I would have to disagree especially as there have been rumours afloat that the iPhone 4G could include video conferencing features, after specific codes were shown in the iPhone's SDK to suggest this.
However, how valuable would video conferencing be the iPhone? It is hardly revolutionary as we have seen it on a majority of handsets. Also, it has been argued that a majority of users do not even use this feature so although there maybe evidence to suggest the iPhone 4G could include video calls or conferencing, I don't how much of a definite factor it will play in prompting people to buy the next generation iPhone.
