Windows Phone 7 Series Marketplace Screenshots Revealed

Although the Windows Phone 7 Series was officially announced at the MWC 2010, very little was revealed about the Marketplace for Windows Phone 7 Series, however yesterday screenshots appeared showing the new marketplace and how it will look.

At first glance the look and feel of the new Marketplace interface looks very Zune inspired. The opening screen has different options for the Marketplace, which include apps, games, music and podcasts.

Once you filter into the application on the opening screen, the several screens will display the featured apps.

The user interface follows the same theme as the rest of the Window Phone 7 Series operating system, in which the interface is wider than the actual screen which allows the users to scroll along horizontally to access more information.

It is believed that the Marketplace is not designed for older apps and this is certainly transparent in the minimum requirements that Windows have set for their applications. Microsoft’s minimum spec includes things such as a high resolution screen which older applications won't be able to cope with. However, irrespective of this, it will be very interesting to see what amazing applications will run on the high resolution crystal quality screen.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
