Samsung look to have done some research on what every girl needs in her handbag: lipstick, compact mirror, faux-quilt cover on her phone.
The Diva S7070 and S5150 will hit the UK catwalk- sorry- mobile phone stores in January 2010, aimed squarely at all the ladies in the house.
Samsung has billed the phones as being able to, "satisfy every woman's fascination and desire for mobile phones" and will "satiate the inner needs of women mobile phone users."
Apparently we girls don't want the huge range of iPhone apps that boys do, nor are we looking for quality 8 megapixel cameras or WiFi connectivity. We just want handsets that are pretty.
Rant at Samsung's PR account execs aside, what do the phones actually offer?
The S7070 Diva looks rather like the extremely popular Tocco Lite, with a white gloss front and 3D quilted pattern on the back. It has an ultra-stylish touchscreen so no problems breaking a nail on those pesky keypads.
The 3 megapixel camera comes with "Beauty Shot" which basically allows you to edit photos to make you look like a supermodel. Never again will there be record of you having a bad hair day.
The S5150 Diva folder is a clam shell style of phone, featuring a mirrored cover and external screen that displays the time and any message notifications.
The touchsreen has been sacrificed for a sleek-looking keypad that uses one flat panel instead of raised buttons that were so last year.
The Divas provide instant notifications when friends or ex-boyfriends update their social networking sites, and a multi-instant messenger collates all of your accounts into the one application.
Both handsets also have the now essential "Fake Call" and "SOS Message" features, for when you really, really need to get out of a bad date.
Would we find a Diva in your clutch purse next year? Leave us a comment and let us know.

Nope – i want the gadgets – they arn’t particulaly pretty though that is the odd part – thay sort of look like the old u9 by motorola – as for the fake call – it already exists on the jet – and just how easy it is is actually really annoying when you keep setting it off in your bag! – nope sorry samsung – this girly girl – will not be going for your “female friendly” phones (insulting much!) <3 xx
Does the samsung diva have a keypad or not?
I just want to know. x
