There has been lots of news and announcements about the mobile phone companies, like Orange and Vodafone, which have started to sell Apple’s iPhone now that O2’s exclusive rights have ended. What is really interesting is that now Tesco Mobile have announced that it will shortly introduce the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in Tesco Phone Shops and online through Tesco Direct. Tesco, of course, is known for pricing everything competitively, but not only food, clothing and household goods but also electronic goods and mobile phones.
According to the BBC, a spokesperson for Tesco Mobile said that it hoped to offer the phone “in time for Christmas” and although Tesco has not revealed tariffs, the spokesperson said that its prices were “competitive”.
Tesco Mobile, which has 2 million customers, is a 50/50 joint venture between Tesco and O2. Tesco Mobile customers also get Tesco related rewards such as free credit and Clubcard points.
Tesco currently has a range of Pay-As-You-Go options and Pay monthly subscriptions with an interesting unlimited tariff. In light of such aggressively priced tariffs it will be really interesting to see what Tesco can do for iPhone hopefuls!

I’ve heard that they’re contracts are going to start at £30 a month which is obviously excellent, and that’s with unlimited free calls, text and web browsing, now that’s competitive!
