PlayStation 3 Gets Facebook Integration

PS3 FacebookSony has officially announced on the PS3 blog that the forthcoming V3.10 firmware upgrade for the PlayStation 3 will include support for Facebook.

The update which is scheduled to be released “soon” allows you to link your PlayStation Network account to your Facebook account and automatically update your Facebook status with Trophy and PlayStation Store activity.

As before you will be able to check your friends updates, on Facebook and Twitter etc with the PS3's built-in web browser.

The update will also allow game developers to add Facebook support into games where you will be able to post status updates to Facebook about your progress and triumphs.

Sony also say that this is just the first step in integrating Facebook and that they plan to add new features in the future.
