While other phone manufacturers are touting more megapixels, music, and apps, Nokia has paid a bit more attention to the redundancies and repossessions on the news every night, releasing a back-to-basics phone that lets you play snake.
The Nokia 1280 doesn't have a camera, GPS or Facebook capabilities, but it does boast a dust resistant keypad and scratch-proof covers in an array of pretty colours.
Is Nokia really saying that you should buy this phone because it won't collect dust? Well"¦ yes.
Instead of being able to Tweet what you're having for breakfast, you can take pride in the fact that your phone is spotless.
While this may not sound terribly exciting, the Nokia 1280 is really the perfect first phone for kids or your nan as it's also hailed as a particularly durable handset that can easily survive a tumble.
The phone also has a very impressive 22 days of battery life, so will still be at the hand for when you (or nan) forgets to plug it in for a bit more juice at night.
The Nokia 1280 is a dual-band device with monochrome display. It does come with the essentials such as a phonebook, calendar, FM radio, and also features a cheeky little treat with Sudoku.
Another exciting point to note is that this phone is Nokia's cheapest ever, at a recession-friendly price around the £17 mark. That's cheaper than a pub meal!
The Nokia 1280 is set for global release early next year, and selected markets will get the added bonus of Life Tools - an SMS-based Nokia service that offers news and essential information to those out of internet range.
