Film in the dark with a NightVision Digital Video Camera

NightVisionSo are we all good and depressed about getting up to go to work in the dark? (Oh how I miss uni when I didn’t have to get up with the Sun!) There’s no denying the rapid approach of winter now that those people working in windowless offices are spending the entire day never really seeing sunlight.

Instead of complaining, make the dark fun with a NightVision Digital Video Camera. Pretend to hunt big game on the way to the bus, and remake Most Haunted on your way home again. Or just pretend you’re invading suburbia and run about yelling ‘Go! Go! Go!’ (I’m a Yorkshire girl- we have strange definitions of making your own entertainment!)

Ok- stop waffling and give the people some stats. It’s only a 1.3mp resolution, but night vision videos practically have to be grainy don’t they? It has a 32mb internal memory (about 2 minutes) but also has an SD slot so you can expand up to 2GB (75 minutes). A really nice added extra to this one is that it can be used in daylight in a normal mode, and then automatically detects the light levels, switching to night vision (or NightVision as the brand name calls it) when it gets too dark. Which is pretty cool you gotta admit.

You get all the stuff you need to get going in the box (charger, link cable, video editing software etc). The set up to actually film with the NightVision Digtal Video Camera is pretty much idiot proof too, as you can see below.

And once the summer rolls round again you’ll still be able to find uses. Take this beauty to the festivals or on your holidays and you can run around and do Blaire Witch project rip offs. Or just stand by the side of the road and pretend it’s a speed gun and scare drivers into slowing down. Hey I never the uses had to fit the intended purpose…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
