Earlier this year I needed to set up some web hosting and to complete the transaction the web hosting company (who were in the USA) sent me a PDF file with a form and asked me to print it out, complete it and then fax it back to them in the USA (from the UK). I must admit that it was a hassle, but I don’t think my web hosting company had heard of FillAnyPDF.com. With FillAnyPDF.com they could have uploaded the standard form and got me to fill it out online.
The way FillAnyPDF.com works is that you set up and account and then upload your blank PDF forms into the site. Once uploaded you can either email people from the site or get a URL that links to your form and send it to people yourself. At the other end the recipient follows the link to the FillAnyPDF.com site where they can complete the form. Once completed you get notified and you can see, download and print the completed form.
The forms that you upload to FillAnyPDF.com don’t even need to be the special interactive type. You can simply create a form in something like the OpenOffice.org word processor, then export it to PDF (which OpenOffice.org does out of the box) and then upload it to FillAnyPDF.com.
When filling out the form the user has a couple of tools which they can use including text insertion, writing freehand and adding a signature.
According to the FillAnyPDF.com FAQ, the electronic signatures that are added to the documents have the legal status equivalent to a written signature (according to the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, but I am guessing that this is in the USA only).
FillAnyPDF.com could be useful for you or your business in many ways including being able to collect signatures from multiple parties for contracts. Or you can fill out, sign, and send purchase orders and of course for those involved in Human Resources, employees and applicants can fill out forms online and send them where they need to go without printing or faxing.
There are several different types of account available at FillAnyPDF.com including the free account (called basic) which allows you to upload 5 pages of blank forms and store up to 50 filled pages. The paid accounts start with the personal account at just $10 per month (with 25 pages of blank forms allowed and 1000 pages of filled out forms) and go right up to the enterprise account which allows you to store 500 pages of blank forms and store over 50,000 of filled out form pages!
Why not head over to FillAnyPDF.com and give it a try as the basic account is free.
