Gift Guide: Top 5 Halloween Gadgets

Halloween is fast approaching. October 30th, there’ll be kids all over the country hyperactive on sugar and having the time of their little lives. But why should they get all the fun? Grab yourself some gadgets and throw the party of the century!

1- RC Tarantula

spiderKick the night off in a scary manner by attacking your arriving guests with this remote control spider. It’s 15cm x 17cm and has a furry little body so could be mistaken for the real deal. Probably not best to use this if you want women to stay at your party though. I may be generalising but spider scare the hell out of me!

2- Crawling Zombie

zombieSticking with the animated movement route for now- a good gadget to nonchalantly send into a room full of inebriated adults. Turn the zombie on and his eyes will flash red as he crawls his way towards you as the undead are seen to do in countless movies. He even yells at you, although I’m not sure how fear inducing ‘I can’t feel my legs’ and other such puns are…

3- Halloween Jack-O Lantern Kit

pumpkinIt’s not Halloween without a carved vegetable of some sort nestling amongst the dips. Can’t be bothered with the hassle this year though? Stick a DVD on the TV instead- this one has different pumpkins and a horror sound track too. It also comes with stencils if you can convince someone to give it a go, and a book of Halloween stories to tell plus recipes for what to do with the left over innards!

4- Blinking Eyes Window Decoration

eyesA second decorative item for you is the Blinking Eyes Window Decoration. Can’t really say much more about this than it does exactly what it says on the tin, but at £2.49 each you could buy a whole bunch and see if you can light the entire room with an eery, seizure inducing glow. Or just see if you can stick it to your face in place of your own eyes to scare trick or treaters.

5- Zombie Shooting Gallery

bedb_zombie_shooting_galleryCarved the pumpkin, hidden from the spider, ignored the kids banging on the door and got really hacked off with the crawling zombie? Take out your frustrations on the latter smaller cousins. Shoot the zombies as they spin around and see who can be crowned Van Helsing or Buffy for the night (yes I know they killed vampires, but I can’t think of any famous zombie slayers!)

Oh and an extra. It’s not really a gadget, but it wouldn’t be Halloween without sweets would it?

Just make sure to eat them all before those pesky kids show up…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
