Read on to learn more about the service…
Just like when your wardrobe needs an update after the summer season, I always find the need to give my music collection a revamp also to get me in the mood for the season ahead. So when I heard that Napster*, one of the best known brands in the music industry launched the world’s largest music store without digital rights management (DRM) a couple of months back I thought that it was a perfect opportunity to see what the service had to offer us music crazy but loving fans who are looking to download some colourful music tracks!
Competing with the likes of Apple iTunes, Napster* Music Store offers a variety of options, however if you’re like me and can’t stand Pay as You Go services, which means paying per track then Napster offers you a subscription service which gives you unlimited access to one of the largest digital music catalogues available with over 6 million tracks.
There are two options available in the Napster* subscription service which include the traditional Napster subscription, which is unlimited access to music on the PC or alternatively their Napster To Go service, which is unlimited access to music on your PC and MP3 player. The Napster subscription service for your PC will cost you £9.95 per month or alternatively if you prefer the MP3 compatible Napster To Go service then this is £14.95 per month. As well as offering you a choice of a whopping 6 million tracks, you can also enjoy personalised recommendations, playlists, loads of Napster exclusives and Napster live sessions from up and coming bands and music mega stars, as well as many other features.
Just like you wouldn’t try on clothes before you buy, it’s exactly the same with a subscription service. Paying around £10-15 per month is a big commitment especially if you don’t what the service is like. However, it looks as though Napster has thought of this already, so to solve the problem they are offering people a 7 day free trial to try out the service to before they buy. If you’re not entirely sure about the service then you can subscribe at a click of button so what have you got to loose? …Maybe your eardrums as you blast new music for everyone to hear!

It’s great news that Napster are revamping and in that, reassessing what consumers want, like DRM – free music. But with free streaming, sharing and free and paid download options like We7 as well as other new models emerging all the time, are customers realistically going to sign-up to a monthly subscription very similar to Napster’s old offering? It may be that customers have become wiser and moved on.
