As many of you will know, Apple held their annual fall event on Wednesday. In addition to the iTunes update, Apple decided to refresh it’s iPod lineup. First up is the iPod Touch which saw a price drop which is good news, capacity increase and a hardware upgrade. The iPod Touch then still has three devices, each with different memory. The 8GB capacity is now £149, the 32GB is £229 and the 64GB is £299. Other differences then with the iPod touch is that the 32GB and the 64GB versions are 50% faster than they previously were, they also feature OpenGL ES 2.0 support, which is probably the same underlying architecture that the infamous 3GS has.

Next is the iPod Classic, and not much has happened here really apart from being bumped up to 160GB only with a price tag of £189. In my opinion you can’t go wrong here with these, I love them and actually considered buying one about a month ago. If you don’t mind the slightly larger device then you can get so much more for your money….bargain!

The iPod Shuffle got a bit of a paint job and a price drop as did all the iPod range. The 2GB is now available in a range of colors  for £45, and a new special edition stainless steel Shuffle is also available as an Apple Store exclusive for £75, worth it?

But the biggest changes were left till last and they come about with the iPod Nano. A video camera has been added here, however it was leaked a few weeks ago that the iPod Nano would be receiving a video camera and so when Apple announced it, no one was surprised. The Nano also features a new improved screen with a size of 2.2 inches, a new polished case, a microphone, speaker, CoverFlow, VoiceOver, a voice recorder, YouTube integration, a pedometer and FM radio. The Nano also gets a facelift in a range of colors that look great with the 8GB version prices at £115 and the 16GB priced at £135. I’m just left sat here thinking does the iPod Nano sell that well in order to warrant a complete makeover?

All the new Additions to the iPod line are now live and available from the Apple Store in your Country wherever you may be so….Enjoy!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
