With the supply of iPhones both 3G and 3GS now finally catching up the demand from consumers, new reports predict that Apple will sell 7 million phones during the September quarter….wow!
The predictions would mean an improved figure of 1.8 million handsets sold from the last quarter which was 5.2 million. When the iPhone 3GS first launched supply was constrained, and this actually led to many store managers to recommend going for lower end models rather than higher end ones, purely because that is what stock they had in. Recently though this trend seems to have disappeared as stock levels have improved.
Gene Munster, senior research analyst with Piper Jaffray, states that all models of the iPhone including the 3G are giving strong sales. However the strong sales of the 3GS are a good indicator as to what sales should be like during the September Quarter, so we will see.
Tomorrow is just another big day for Apple as the iPod event takes place, but what they will unveil remains to be seen amongst a midst of rumors. Be sure to check back soon to see what takes place there and in the Apple world!

Great timing. My iPhone just suffered from the dreaded 1604 error. When will Apple start to build firmware that doesn’t crash. Lots of style, but often with flaws!
I think I’m going to be one of the 7M; that 32gb 3GS is mighty attractive. I fooled around w/ it at the apple store in nyc and the video camera is a definite plus. And no freezing & crashing like the old days. Since 2 yrs, I’m reliant on the Internet, map, compass, prayer reminders. Plus audio/ text/ translation of Quran 24/7 at my fingertips. However much othersmight complain of battery life, dropped calls & accessing 3G, I’ve always loved this device.
I think i might be one of the 7M too the iPhone 3GS tempts me so much! i love the thing and even with it’s flaws a think the advantages of having one far outweigh the disadvantages for sure!
