Details over the last month have showed that Research In Motion (RIM), the recently named fastest growing company in the world and the mastermind behind Blackberry, are planning to add full Flash and Silverlight support to the phone company’s browser. And just to state again that’s FULL Flash support not Flash Lite or anything.
However the word “planning” is the key word here as usually when RIM say they are planning on something it usually means that it’s going to be a while before we see it. On the plus side, it also usually means that it will happen.
So in hindsight i think it will probably be somewhere around next summer that we get to see this because RIM have got a lot of work to do before they can integrate this into Blackberry’s browser. For example they’ll need HSPA or LTE data speeds before they can even think about doing this.
Engadget put it right, maybe in the meantime all those engineers could work on things like properly rendering a web-page? Just an idea.
