September was supposed to be the month when Apple’s new Snow Leopard software was coming out, and that’s great because we can all wait, it’s only a month away!
But ever since the Apple developers seemingly reported that Snow Leopard has gone gold (The final update has all been tested by the production team and they are happy with it), The release date might see a push forward from September to this month, possibly the 28th August.
I just can’t understand why? Apple has no reason to push it forward. Apple are at the top of the economy, Snow Leopard is already immensely popular due to the success of Leopard and better still, it’s a lot cheaper than Windows 7. So i can’t understand why Apple would push it forward, if there are problems with it then the developers could notice it before it’s release if they wait till September to put it out into the wild.
If you ask me whether they’ll release it early, i’d say no, purely because Apple usually sticks to a schedule for the year, and releasing it early would mess that up. On the other hand, releasing it early would score points with consumers, because software like this never gets released before it’s expected date.
This will be an interesting one, so be sure to check back for further updates!
