Glow Cutlery- made for student BBQs!

glow cutleryI graduated recently, and already I’m missing the student life. Granted I still live in the town I came to uni at (got my own flat and everything) but now I’m working I’ve had to face up to that awful realisation that I am Becoming A Grown Up. Scary stuff. So as a way to prolong my student life, here’s a gadget for anyone out there who is going to be a student; is still a student’ or just still lives like one.

Ever been out in town, got a bit drunk and work up next morning with arms full of worn out glow sticks? Well now you can have all the fun of playing with lights without having to contort into strange shapes to attach them round your wrists. Electric Planet’s Glow Cutlery set uses the same principle to make your evening BBQ just that little bit cooler. Simply snap your utensil backwards and forwards, shake, and hey presto- light up knife, fork and spoon! The glow lasts for six hours, so more than enough time for everyone to get a play.

Now, you do have to wonder how sturdy they’ll be, considering that you bend them in half to get them to work. And they’re pretty much one use only, unless you’re really low on cash and the type to wash the plastic cutlery. But for only £3.99 for a twelve piece set (containing four of each knives, forks and spoons and a mix of four colours- red, blue, yellow and green) they’re probably worth it, even just for the novelty value you’ll get finding a blue knife and a red knife and re-enacting the ‘I am your father…’ scene from Star Wars.

Wanna be the coolest student in your inevitably untidy student pad? Head over to Electric Planet.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
