Averatec N3400 Ultra-slim Notebook; Aluminum-clad Like MacBook

n3400TriGem has launched one of the thinnest and lightest notebooks on the market the Averatec N3400 and it looks stylish too! By choosing to clad their new laptop in aluminum and by making it relatively thin and light the Averatec has taken a leaf from Apple’s book and are delivering style along with performance.

The 13″ laptop features a 2.16GHz Intel dual-core processor and only weighs 1.7kg, has a slimline front and is 2.5cm thick at its thickest point (which is quite good even when compared to the 1.94cm of the MacBook Air).

"As one of the thinnest and lightest notebooks on the market, the N3400 meets the demand of consumers who require the ultimate in portability and a little flash of style without breaking the bank," said Henry Hewitt, vice president of sales at TriGem USA. "Although it is small in size and weight, the N3400 is large in power and performance. This notebook is sure to stand out from the crowd with its low weight, small footprint and affordable price point."

The N3400 also features a 250GB hard drive, 3GB of memory, Microsoft Vista Home Premium. Due to its thinness there isn’t a built-in DVD drive but you do get and an external USB 8x super-multi DVD optical drive.

Also included is built-in 802.11n wireless connectivity, 10/100/1000 Mb/s wired networking, Bluetooth and a 1.3 megapixel web cam.

In the USA the recommended price is $799. Avertac has been selling laptops in the UK since 2005 so it will be available soon in the UK, but there is no word on pricing yet.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
