Flick Fishing – First to One Million Paid Downloads!

First of all, a big congratulations to the iPhone game developer Freeverse, who announced this week that they had sold the millionth copy of their Flick Fishing game making it the first paid application to reach the feat.flick-fishing-2

I have played the game myself and it’s great, this coming from a person who doesn’t actually like fishing that much! Flick Fishing is basically a virtual fishing trip at the flick of a wrist, the user can then decide the bait to use and in combination with their fishing skill, catch the bigger fish.

An update for the game, released at the same time as the 3.0 update allows peer-to-peer networking for players to compare their caught fish in a tournament styled competition. In addition is the ability to buy a new fishing location and new fish, 10% of users have bought this since the update.

Flick Fishing is an easy to play, easy to pick up game so if you own and iPhone or an iPod Touch i would recommend it, even if you don’t like fishing!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
