Electronics manufacturer ASUS has announced that it will be launching a G60 gaming laptop with a backlit keyboard.
Naturally, as the laptop is being marketed as a gaming machine it will come with an impressive specs list that includes:
- 16-inch 1080p display
- Intel Core 2 Quad processor
- 4GB DDR3 RAM
- GeForce GTX 260M graphics - with 1GB RAM
- Blu-Ray drive
- 2-megapixel webcam
The G60 will come with a SSD drive as standard, and customers will have a choice of capacities ranging from 320GB to 1TB.
Connectivity-wise the G60 has got most of the bases covered too, with SATA, HDMI and Firewire options to keep the gaming punters happy.
The device comes branded as a ‘Republic of Gamers’ machine to set it apart from the rest of the ASUS range, and also includes a rather nice backlit keyboard.
Of course, with these specs it was never going to come in as the cheapest laptop in the world, so we’re not too surprised to hear that it will cost £1500 when it launches here in September - if anything, we’re surprised that the price is as low as that.
