Crystal Weather Station: Predict in Style

Being a UK-based gadget site, there was no way we could pass over a gadget dedicated to a topic close to everyone's heart; the weather. Now talking about the weather is generally seen as quite boring; however, there's no getting away from it. It generally makes up the first conversation of my day as I try to decide what to wear to brave the elements. Then as I get into work, everyone has to make a comment about how windy/rainy/generally bad the weather was on their way to the office. Finally as we all leave for the day, there's always one or two annoyingly hopeful comments on there potentially being a few rays of sunlight the next day. If only there was some way jazz-up this monotony in our lives?

Enter the Crystal Weather Station, a gadget that will take this mundane but much talked about topic and bring it to a new level of sophistication. This device will give you a weather forecast by illuminating a crystal-etched 3D icon. Apart from telling you to pull out your raincoat, it will also show the time in a retro-style clock at the base of the little weather station. The clock is radio controlled, meaning you don't have to sit there holding down different buttons while running to and from the microwave clock just to set the time correctly. I like that.

The modernist design of the Crystal Weather Station is what sets it apart from so many other forecasting devices that look more like a TV remote control from the 80s. This gadget has been designed for the modern home and will fit easily into your high-tech living room.

To heighten the coolness of this item, you can change the display mode from time to indoor temperature by waving your hand in front of it. A downside to this item is that it is mains powered, meaning that it loses the portability of battery-operated devices.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
