Hackers Jailbreak Apple iPhone 3.0 Software

Well it was always going to be sooner or later before Apple’s latest 3.0 firmware update for the iPhone was going to be cracked. Seeing as the new system was released yesterday (June 17), it looks like hackers have gone for sooner.apple_logo

The iPhone Dev Team, a hacker group, will release a tool tomorrow (June 19) to unlock an iPhone on the new 3.0 system.

The hacker team previously released “Yellosnow” back in January which unlocked iPhones and allowed users to connect to any operator.

The new jailbreak is called “Ultrasnow” and will work on any iPhone 3G running 3.0. However, it may not work on the new iPhone 3GS which is also due to be released tomorrow.

Ultrasnow exists thanks to a hacker based in Israel who discovered a weakness in the iPhone 3.0  just six weeks after Apple previewed the software.

To see a demo of Ultrasnow in advance, check out the video on the Dev Team’s blog.

  • It’s brilliant how quickly the hackers are onto new software. Means I can upgrade my iPhone and steer well clear of O2. nice.

  • Bullshit: The new jailbreak is called “Ultrasnow” and will work on any iPhone 3G running 3.0.

    Ultrasnow is the unlock.
QuickPwn & PwnageTool are the jailbreak applications

ok this jailbreack can also work with a iphone 2g 16GB?

Please let me know… i really dont whant to buy the new one because i dont see a point on doing it.

  • Actually Ultrasnow is the unlock not the jailbreak. The jailbreak will, most likely, be released tomorrow but I’m not sure about the unlock.

Whats the defference between the jailbreack and unlock…?

  • unlock removes simlock/netlock
jailbreak lets you use cydia/installer/icy to get some features like ssh, ftpservers. (It can also activate your iphone)
