Everyone is in on Facebook and Google Mail, so why not combine the two and save hassling around between tabs in your browser all afternoon? iGoogle has released a new Facebook Connect Gadget, allowing you to keep track of your Facebook news feed from your iGoogle home page.
You can even update your status from here to, “Matt has written this from another site, wooooo….” Your status will be punctuated with a little note to tell everyone that it was updated via the iGoogle Gadget.
Facebook Connect was designed by Facebook but actually developed by Google, making this a very cushy relationship.
The news feed is automatically updated whenever one of your friends claims that they’re doing something interesting, to save you clicking on refresh to make sure you know exactly how Amy feels right now.
At this stage, there is no option to leave comments or Like stories from Facebook Connect, but I’m sure this will be developed soon in the future.
Ironically though, this Google developed app doesn’t seem to work on Google Chrome, so a bit of variance in life is a good thing.
If you want to make sure you’re properly in the FB loop, check out the gadget on iGoogle.

The Race is already on between Google & Facebook. But Google appears to be focusing on segmentation by organizing around “circles,” allowing an easy way to target particular posts to friends, family, colleagues, etc. In fact you can do this on Facebook as well, but Facebook lists are not as easy to find or edit; nor are they as easy to view as a separate stream.
