Sony’s much-talked about but yet to be officially announced PSP GO is expected to début at the E3 gaming expo in Los Angeles this week.
We’ve heard a few whisperings of the device online with the odd leaked picture here and there, but we recently learnt from a mistakenly posted video on the Sony website that the new PSP has borrowed from the world of mobiles and implemented a sliding form factor, meaning the keypads and buttons are safely tucked away when not in use or when watching a movie.
The video was quickly removed from the site, but not before revealing that the GO will come with a 3.8-inch display, Bluetooth support and 16GB of internal storage, plus a memory card slot for boosting it further.
Perhaps best of all though, Sony has finally put the UMD format to bed for the PSP and instead will be focussing on digital content delivered directly to the device.
We’re expecting to hear more about the PSP in the coming days for sure, with an official announcement rumoured as soon as tomorrow. Fingers crossed, folks.
