New Fifth Gen iPod Nano: with Camera?

The Apple rumour mill is churning away again with the latest word speculating on a fifth generation iPod Nano featuring a camera.

Next month sees the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, making Apple news hot stuff at the moment.

The technology giant is also expected to release a new version iPhone that is expected to retain it’s current size and overall design, but will be comprised of a matte plastic body that will make it harder to scratch.

Tech site iLounge says that sources close to Apple are confident that the new iPod Nano will include a digital camera. This is its mock-up design of what we can expect to see revealed in San Fran.

The site believes that new models will be in stores by September, and will feature a wider screen than the fourth- gen Nanos.

There is however, no touch screen in sight for the Nano as this latest version will keep use of the click wheel, albeit a smaller one than in previous models.

With practically every phone sporting a camera, is there actually any need to equip your MP3 player with one as well? Let us know your thoughts on this new Apple design.

  • Pointless to include a camera. How are you going to download the pictures without wifi or Bluetooth? I’d be surprised if Apple released a major nano update, the conference will be all about the new iPhone.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
