The wait is almost over, the possible iPhone killer from Nokia has started shipping and will be available to buy over the counter in just a few days. The N900 uses the Linux based Maemo 5 software which is great news for application developers as everything is open, it is proven technology and it is fast. October has been a busy month with the launch of Windows 7 but Windows 7 isn’t the only new version of a desktop operating system being launched this month. Ubuntu 9.10, the very popular Linux distribution, was released yesterday and should prove to be popular among Linux fans and hopefully gain some new users too.
