The combination of GPS and mobile phone to create a satnav system is very useful and this year TomTom started selling their navigation software for the iPhone. Now Google is entering the market and it is doing an amazing thing, it is giving away turn-by-turn GPS navigation, with voice guidance, for free in its Google Maps for mobiles software.
While many are waiting for the TomTom application to be released, European software developers NAVIGON have beaten TomTom by releasing an iPhone turn-by-turn navigation app for Europe.
The app, which is available now on the Apple App Store, includes maps for the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as the rest of mainland Europe including France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.
